THE ALDCLIFFE HUT
THE ALDCLIFFE HUT
Nestled at the end of our family garden, the Aldcliffe Hut offers the best of both worlds.
The charming Blackdown shepherd’s hut looks over the peaceful sanctuary of the Fairfield Nature Reserve, with its rare breed White Park cattle, yet is only a short walk from the bustling centre of Lancaster and its mainline train station and transport links to the Lake District.
FAIRFIELD
The reserve is a 16 acre area comprising a hay meadow, grazing pasture, wetland, a stream, ponds and scrapes, and hedgerows with many veteran trees.
White Park cattle - an ancient and endangered breed - graze the reed beds and grassland.
A fully accessible public footpath crosses the reserve, linking the Fairfield Orchard (beautiful in blossom season) to Cromwell Road which leads to Aldcliffe Road and the Lancaster Canal.
ACCESS
We hope you find the The Aldcliffe Hut easy to use and reach. Lancaster is on the west coast mainline and just 2 miles from J34 of the M6 and 5 miles from J33. We also have good transport links to the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales.
PRIVACY
On the property, the hut is secluded from the family home in a private sunken garden. Access is through a shared area.
